Kootalla
Outside of the big city of Thrissur is a small town called Kootalla. The language of Kerala is Malayalam and i have learned about 8 words, things like thankyou and yes and good and face and water and hot. This video was taken on a little walk up to the store to pick up a few things. The video shot below was done right after i arrived.
In thinking back to Kootala and being in the countryside – it was the best part of my trip. The people there had connection to their village, the land and their families. They were generous and welcoming. Later the ugly side of people was much more visible in Varkala and in Ft. Cochin where you are a tourist with a dollar sign on your forehead. Thanks Kootalla.
