72 Rupees

I needed a few things at the store. One of these things was a bra for my sari. 100 Rupees equals about $1.25 Canadian. I wanted to show you what you can get for a buck sixty-five in Kootalla.

1. I bought a sari bra
2. i bought some Mr. Wash – laundry soap
3. a bought a bar of Chandrika – beautiful, fragrant all natural hand soap
4. some Jai Kajal eye salve – its actually the black makeup they put on under their eyes but it is also medicated and good for the eyes

She added it all upon her calculator and asked for 72 Rupees. I walked home feeling a little sad actually that it cost so little so I gave an elderly woman clearing the side of the road with a machete 50 rupees. She accepted and we  had a chat about something that im not sure of but it was a connection. Her machete rested on her shoulder.
